SINGER-SONGWRITER HEATH WEBB RELEASES WAYWARD SOUL
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 10, 2019) - Singer-songwriter Heath Webb is announcing the release of Wayward Soul on May 31st. Finding comfort in a variable kind of life following tragic experiences including the loss of several family members, a house fire and the loss of a past love, the album shares the songwriter’s powerful journey and incredible resilience. With an optimistic outlook, Webb opens up about the dynamic shifts in his personal life and the ability to harness life’s lessons and move forward. “My mom wasn’t really around, my father held a prison sentence and I lost everyone that I had known, all at once. In that moment, I felt lost, but I realized that I’m still here,” said Webb of his journey.
Raised by his grandparents on Lake Tawakoni in Texas, Webb took to music after discovering his grandmother's record collection. He absorbed as much music as he could and by the age of 15, he received his first guitar. Webb went on to study at South Plains College in a program that was co-founded by Grammy-winning Producer Lloyd Maines and attended by notables; Lee Ann Womack, Natalie Maines and Trent Willmon. While there, he honed his craft as both a guitarist and a fiddle player, and quickly decided to hit the road, where he eventually toured with Cody Jinks.
Unexpectedly in his late twenties and all within’ two years, he faced a series of tragic events including a house fire, the death of his father who he had reconnected with after ten years, the loss of his cousin, a girlfriend and his grandparents. After picking up the pieces, and at the urging of his longtime friends and a newfound support system, Webb moved to Music City.
“I had a chance to make a record in Nashville with a tight-knit group of friends, and Nashville is a good place to stretch your legs, creatively without criticism. I had nothin’ else to lose, so I moved, and didn’t look back. There were a lot of challenging days, but I’m grateful for the friends that supported me and I’m proud of the music that we made. I hope that people with similar situations will find comfort in the songs on this record,” said Webb.
Wayward Soul is Webb’s third, studio project and was produced by Scott Harter (formerly of the trio The Harters). The evocative and powerful six-song set is Webb’s most personal, honest and vulnerable songwriting to date. In “Still Rollin,’" Webb deflects life’s pitfalls with a reminder that life is a journey, it’s temporary and unexpected but it still continues to move forward. Poetic ballad “Medicine Man,” is about the search to find answers through a spiritual, cathartic experience, and in a cynical but approachable moment, the title track “Wayward Souls,” has the songwriter observing passerbys in an unlikely place of comfort, a local bar. “Bittersweet” and “Medicine Man” are stirring showcases, with soundscapes that lean more cosmic, offering up an atmospheric, supporting cast of drums, pedal steel, claps and haunting synth effects. Listeners will also find two renditions of Fred Eaglesmith songs on the album, serving as tributes to the cousin that Webb lost.
Webb’s perspective surrounding his experiences, his impressive growth through the sizable shifts in his life and his ability to pick up the pieces and move forward is inspirational. Wayward Soul is just the beginning for a songwriter, whose messages and lyrics have already started to connect deeply with fans and listeners. Wayward Soul will be available on iTunes and digital retailers everywhere on May 31st, and is the follow up to Webb’s previously released albums No Man’s Land and Before I Break, both produced by Jeff Halbert (Jade Jackson, St. Vincent, Rancid). MISS MORGAN MYLES EP RELEASES TODAY
MISS MORGAN MYLES EP DROPS TODAY (1/8)
Powerhouse Vocalist Tops Artist To Watch Lists for 2016 And Selected To Perform For Nashville Lifestyle’s 12th Annual Music In The City (1/27)
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 8, 2015) - Powerhouse vocalist Morgan Myles kicks off the New Year with the independent release of her undeniably refreshing EP Miss Morgan Myles today (1/8). Blending country, soul and R&B the stunning six-song collection includes fan-favorite song, “Whiskey Dreaming” and is now available on iTunes and across all digital retailers.
Named one of just a handful of artists “poised to tackle 2016’s music scene head-on” by Nashville Lifestyles, the triple threat vocalist, songwriter and guitarist is making her mark topping several Artist To Watch Lists for 2016 with MySpace.com saying “Simply put, this Pennsylvania native has ‘it’ --in spades.” TasteOfCountry.com listed her as an artist who makes “indie look good” with “music that sticks to the ribs.” Myle’s soaring set of pipes, captivating stage presence and charisma also landed her on the lineup for Nashville Lifestyle’s 12th Annual Music In The City taking place at Tin Roof (316 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37219) on Jan. 27.
"I’m so grateful for all the support from my fans, friends, family and the music community. My producer and I worked really hard on this project, closing the doors to the world for over a year to focus only on recording the music for this EP, and I really feel like we found my sound and my style in the process. This EP is a true reflection of who I am both as an artist and as a mature and confident woman. I’m so excited to be able to share it with my fans and I think a lot of people will be able to relate to the stories throughout, and I hope they groove along with me too,” said Myles.
Produced by RioVilleMusic, Myles co-wrote all of the songs off her EP Miss Morgan Myles revealing stories from her own personal life including letting go of an old flame that wasn’t the one, reflected in the lyrics on groovy “Whiskey Dreaming.” She follows that up with the self-penned “Queen Of Hearts,” which finishes the story of the ill-fated relationship calling love a ‘dangerous game.’ Launching into the up-tempo, spirited anthem “We Won’t Go Home,” Myles shows off her playful personality and then dives with conviction into “Adeline,” and “Nobody Better Than You,” which MySpace.com highlights as a track that showcases Myles vocal range as one that is “second to none” adding, “Nashville hasn’t seen anything as smoldering as the sensual ‘Nobody Better Than You’ since the days of Hill and Twain.”
Turning heads with her sultry voice and Country-soul sound, Morgan Myles launched onto Nashville’s music scene with lead single “Whiskey Dreaming,” which was featured on iHeartRadio.com, TasteOfCountry.com and CMT, and is included on her EP Miss Morgan Myles. Inspired by big voices of the 90s, the Williamsport, PA native packed up her bags and moved to Nashville, TN nearly a decade ago to pursue her music career. Since then, she has teamed up on projects with the legendary Vance Powell, collaborated with top tunesmiths Richie Brown (Garth Brooks, Jerrod Niemann) and Rebecca Lynn Howard (Martina McBride, Patty Loveless, Trisha Yearwood) and opened for shows for Reba McEntire, Hank Williams Jr., Rick Springfield and more. Making an imprint on Nashville and fans across North America, Myles performed for the Vancouver Winter Olympics and most recently performed with Jim Lauderdale and Leigh Nash for Music City Roots, where she brought the crowd to their feet. Myles is gearing up to perform a run of shows in Nashville, TN including performances at The Basement East (1/12), Nashville Lifestyle’s 12th Annual Music In The City at Tin Roof (1/27), 12th & Porter (2/14) and more. For a full list of tour dates and for additional information, visit www.MorganMylesLive.com.
