Lost In The Valley Of Hate & Love Vol 2 ushers in an elevated sonic edge that signals growth for the band and confidently showcases their sharp songwriting and powerful wall of sound. The new collection of music was recorded in various locations across the south including the iconic FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama for which “Candle In The Dark” and “Birmingham Steel” were recorded.

New single “All Good In The Neighborhood” tells the story of a man who finds himself in trouble after leaving his hometown in Etowah County. With regret after not heeding his father's advice, and while sitting in a Tallahassee jail he fantasizes about returning to a simpler life in Alabama. The song follows the band’s previously released “A Bad Hand,” “Candle In The Dark” and “Birmingham Steel,” a tribute to the Alabama steel industry and workers. “For me, the ‘Devil In The Details’ music video really translates the song’s emotion and story into an equally emotional visual experience. With Director Sarah Wilson Thacker’s vision, and Irvin Liu’s cinematography, our collaborative effort brought the piece to life in a way that is both beautiful and somber. This is a video that I feel not only compliments, but amplifies my song’s message. I can’t help but believe that this video will leave the viewer asking some of the very same questions I pose in the song itself,” said DeWyze.

“The song has such a delicate introspection, and I really wanted to craft a visual that spoke to that looking upwards and inwards we all experience this in life. I think that searching for direction in the face of hardship and loss is so universal and it was such a thrill to help realize Lee’s vision for this epic song,” said Director Sarah Wilson Thacker. 

Gone For Days is DeWyze’s most personal and introspective album to date and offers an honest reflection of self-exploration with heartfelt lyricism and a stunning sonic portrayal of life’s outcomes expressed with expansive strings, gorgeous melodies and syncopated rhythms. DeWyze surrendered to the creative process, leaving his home in Los Angeles to write and record this album in Bristol, VA. While spending time alone writing the album, the songwriter confronted some of the deepest, darkest places in his own personal life, leading him to explore some of life’s toughest questions.

“I had so many different ideas floating around,” he said. “I spent that first month working out the songs and experimenting with different ideas and approaches.’ I wanted to write a record that I love, a record that I’d want to listen to.’ Looking back at it now, I find myself saying, ‘Wow, that was a surreal two and a half months of my life,’ but so many incredible things came from it on a musical and personal level.” 

While in Bristol, DeWyze found comfort by surrounding himself with new and familiar friends in and out of the studio. The collection of new music includes contributions from Grammy-nominated instrumentalists including cellist Dave Eggar, who composed the string arrangements, while guest musicians Barry Bales and Tim Stafford contributed on songs including “Devil In The Details” and “Dandelion”.  Phil Faconti, a Brooklyn native currently living in Bristol, played additional guitar throughout the record, and Blake Collins, a Bristol native played mandolin. DeWyze wrote the songs, played the main acoustic guitars throughout the album, and provided vocals.

“Recording this album was a special experience for me. On a personal level, it feels like this is the album I’ve always wanted to make. Even in the studio, everything was very organic and real. It was almost as if the record was alive, and all the pieces were flying in and out, finding their proper places. It was all centered around the songs and what’s best for each one of them, all while telling each song's individual story. It was important to me that you could feel the emotion on this album, and that it sounded that way as well,” said DeWyze.

The rising singer-songwriter grew up in Columbus, Ohio where he was introduced to a variety of music genres. Before pursuing a career in Country music, Bricks spent a decade, creatively exploring multiple sub-genres of music with success selling out shows in New York, performing at SXSW, and showcasing as an indie pop artist. While he could create endless music with programmed beats, sample packs and pop hooks, the music he was making started to feel uninspiring. Obsessed with the guitar at an early age, he decided to inject the guitar back into his music, merging his pop hooks with instrumentation, ultimately returning back to his Country roots. He made multiple visits to Nashville, and eventually moved to the City in 2023.

Teaming up with Metal Fabricator Alicia Butty, the video pays tribute to the Birmingham steel industry and its workers, and follows Alicia throughout the video, as she crafts roses out of metal. “Barbecue” is the follow up to the singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalists’ Country debut “Rock & Roll.” Blazing his path in Country music, Bricks’ sound encompasses a wide range of influences with Country roots that run deep, growing up on a horse farm where he first fell in love with Country music and touring nationally as an indie-pop artist, opening for groups such as Smash Mouth, Cute Is What We Aim For and We The Kings. 

“I have always been surrounded by Country music and have had a love for it since I was a kid. I grew up on a horse farm, where I soaked up a ton of Country music. I learned to ride horses, and I was surrounded by people who taught me how to line dance. I want to make and release music that gets people excited and dancing. KIT’s BB Chamber A allows creators to select from three distinct microphone options and tailor their placement on the floor or ceiling of the chamber while seamlessly raising or lowering the ceiling, mimicking the authentic Studio A chamber experience. Additionally, creators can shape and refine audio further by choosing the audio source from a Hi-Fi studio monitor, a live PA speaker, or a “direct” input that bypasses the speaker. On the way out, an FX strip awaits, equipped with saturation, filters, EQ, and compression controls.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 8, 2024) -  Southern rock band Them Dirty Roses, made up of brothers James and Frank Ford and childhood best friends Ben Crain and Andrew Davis are announcing the release of their new single “Birmingham Steel”, coming out on May 15th, 2024.

“Birmingham Steel” was co-written by all four band members and collaborators Phillip White and James LeBlanc, and was recorded at the iconic FAME studios. Inspired by the band’s home state of Alabama, the song highlights Alabama’s steel industry as a metaphor for a solid, sturdy relationship.

Bred in ‘Bama clay, Them Dirty Roses grew up together and eventually dedicated an era to building a brotherhood as “warrior musicians out to capture Southern rock glory and immortality, or die trying” (Saving Country Music). Making the move to Nashville, they packed their RV with vintage gear and spent time living together under the same roof, while building a loyal legion of fans, and relentlessly touring across the country. 

The result was a chemistry akin to some of the most well-known, legendary Southern rock bands and a story built independently on grit and sweat - garnering over 800,000 Spotify listeners, more than 353K followers across social media platforms, and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds at their live shows.

Their powerful wall of sound, characterized by fiery riffs, soaring guitar solos, harmonized backing vocals and songs led by the Lead Vocalist James Ford, offer crowds a sense of authenticity and sincerity -  a mix of sharp songwriting and down-home swagger, of melody and muscle, of grooves and Gibson guitars — nods to the legends of the south who came before them.

Everybody came into this band with their own favorite kind of music," says Andrew Davis, Lead Guitarist. "When you smash it all together, this sound is what you get. Without those years living on top of each other in Nashville, we might not have tapped into this feeling where we get onstage and can all feel what's coming next. It's intuitive."

Eventually returning to their home state of Alabama, that intuition gave rise to new music including their current single “Birmingham Steel” and previously-released “Candle In The Dark,” both off a forthcoming EP (to be announced). Their forthcoming EP will follow their previously-released, self-titled album Them Dirty Roses and  Lost In The Valley of Hate & Love Vol 1. 

With more shows on the horizon, their “unmistakable southern down home rock and roll sound” (Gadsden Messenger) has catapulted them to some of the most coveted stages at major festivals including ShipRocked, LJT Fest, and Gulf Coast Jam.
