The swaggering, fiddle-and-steel heavy “Jacket On,” was co-written by Mike, songstress Brandy Clark, and Brent Anderson with Jenee Fleenor adding her signature fiddle skills. Mike stretches his vocal abilities from floor to ceiling with his impressive range on “Loser,” a wear your heart on your sleeve spin on losing someone, co-written by Colin Elmore, Hillary Lindsey and Gordie Sampson. A dose of reality sets in with “Way It Goes,” a song about how it is instead of how you think it should be, co-written by songwriter-artist Phil Vassar, Brett Sheroky and Andrew Peebles.

The expansive set also shows Mike leaning into Appalachia influence with “Forgiveness and Rain,” a song about wrestling with the guilt of raising questionable crops, penned by longtime collaborators Brent Anderson and Chris DuBois.

“‘We’re On Fire’ is a double entendre, it refers to the lyrics in the song, which deal with the implications of finding purpose in an impermanent world, and with the transformative nature of the times we’re collectively living in. Indeed, we are on fire and the burning question in the background of our lives is 'what will remain once the ashes have blown away?” shares Josh.

Examining life’s choices and what ignites them, Josh wrote his debut album We’re On Fire, after experiencing his own brush with death, making his way out of his Dallas apartment, after the building caught fire. Of the first taste of new music from his debut Josh shared, “‘Stories’ breaks the ‘fourth wall’ and just talks straight to the fans, friends and family that have been with me on this journey.  It’s about telling them that I love them, and thanking them for being there. If we play our cards right, this will be the anthem we’re singing at festivals in our seventies to thousands of fans around the world.”

Josh’s forthcoming, full-length album We’re On Fire was written after a defining moment in his life, making his way out of his Dallas apartment from the 16th floor, after the building caught fire. Josh was shaken. In the days following that pivotal moment, he fully realized that we’re only given so much time, and like fire, time eventually burns out. 

That experience ultimately propelled Josh to move to Nashville and pursue his music career. 

“It was the first time I was confronted with a fear of death in a real way. I needed a new start, and I landed in Nashville with an incredible community of musicians and songwriters,” said Josh. 

We’re On Fire details Josh’s transformative journey since the apartment fire, with eleven self-penned songs that look back on his youth, the people that have come and gone, and what lies ahead. We’re On Fire combines Josh’s love for Americana-roots and folk-inspired rock. Josh self-produced ten of the songs and wrote all of them, many with deep, emotionally-affecting lyrics. His smoky voice and lyrical skills take center stage to a backdrop of folk-rock soundscapes and emotive acoustic guitar ballads with floating ambience weaving throughout. 

We’re On Fire follows Josh’s previously released Modern Gospel EP (2016), which displayed so much songwriting talent that Dallas label State Fair Records came knocking.

“We received a ton of support from the city of Nashville after Season 1, and turned some celebrities into fans. When it came time to cast our Season 2 guest stars, we were able to land some folks that are giants in their industries and that we have a ton of respect for,” said Phillip Cordell, Owner of production company HiPhi Productions and Writer/Actor of the series.

“Most of us grew up in Nashville and want to put on for our city, so that Nashville-focus is important to us and definitely comes through heavily,” he added.

Show creators and stars Phillip, Rashad and Director Danny Dones developed the take on fatherhood for the second time after Season 1 garnered over 2 million views and was the only Nashville-based project in competition to be selected for the Episodic Category at the Nashville Film Festival (NaFF). For Season 2, they set up a writers room in Nashville to script and produce the 7-episode digital series, using more complex cinematography and a more focused comedic voice.

The Dallas, Texas native grew up in a family of musicians including his grandmother Evelyn, a backup vocalist during Patsy Cline’s Hayride circuit and his father Danny Balis, the co-founder and bassist of band Bastards Of Soul and co-owner of Dallas music venue the Twilite Lounge. At 15 years old, he learned how to play the guitar. By the age of 21, he put pen to paper writing songs, and captured the attention of State Fair Records executives.

Nashville Dads Club Season 2 was created by Phillip Cordell, Rashad Rayford and Creator/Director Danny Dones. The trio developed the witty and light-hearted take on fatherhood after the much raved-about hometown success of season one.

“We ended up with 2 million views and we were the only Nashville-based project in competition in the Episodic Category at the Nashville Film Festival (NaFF). We were up against other great projects with well-known actors out of Los Angeles and New York with budgets that dwarfed ours, but we were really proud to represent the home team and be recognized by our very own and Nashville’s prestigious film festival,” shared Cordell, Owner of HiPhi Productions and Writer/Actor/Producer of the series.

“A lot of people started asking us when Season 2 was coming. So, we set up a writer’s room and produced a second season with more complex cinematography, a more focused comedic voice and a few big guest stars that we can’t wait to start talking about,” he added.

Winter is Brontë Fall’s third studio release and includes six-songs, all written or co-written by lead songwriter and classically-trained multi-instrumentalist Teri Bracken. Unveiling a deep and vulnerable perspective, Bracken's experiences surviving a deadly tornado, a messy breakup and her father’s ongoing battle with cancer are felt in songs like “Beyond The Rain,” about waking up in a world so changed that it might never be reversed. In “Burning Out,” she compares a fading relationship to the fall of a shooting star and “To Be The One,” recalls real-life moments in her relationship when she knew the end was inevitable. Staying the course with literary influences, Brontë Fall echoes a similar sentiment to Dorothy in the Wizard Of Oz. In the video, Brontë Fall is swept up in a twister. Instead of waking up in Oz, she wakes up to an unfamiliar place, somewhere ‘beyond the rain’ with no yellow brick road to show her the way back. “Beyond The Rain” is from Brontë Fall’s forthcoming, third studio project Winter, due out on March 4th.

Nashville, Tenn. (Feb. 11, 2022) - Indie-pop artist Brontë Fall, led by classically-trained multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Teri Bracken is releasing new single, “Beyond The Rain” today. "Beyond The Rain" was written by Bracken about surviving the East Nashville tornado right before the world shut down for the pandemic. Inspired by her real-life account, Bracken sings about waking up in a world so changed that it might never return to what it was. "Beyond The Rain" is included on Brontë Fall's forthcoming third studio release Winter, out on March 4th.

Brontë Fall will kick off a tour beginning this weekend in Nashville. Bracken’s experience studying orchestral music, playing stringed instruments and countless classical sonatas and concertos on the violin, expertly informs the emerging artists’ Pop and Rootsy-Americana sound and live performance. "Beyond The Rain" follows previously released songs "Outsmart Love" and "Indiana." WMOT Roots Radio and DittyTV’s ‘The Curve’ revealed the music video for  “Outsmart Love," and the song was featured by Guitar Girl, Music Mecca, The Alternate Root's Top 10 Songs of the Week and more. "Beyond The Rain," "Outsmart Love" and "Indiana" will all be included on the forthcoming, independent release Winter. Brontë Fall's third studio project Winter was inspired by “Fall, Leaves, Fall” a literary poem by Emily Brontë, from which the artist takes her name, about finding beauty in the darker seasons.
