Prior to her appearance on NBC’s “The Voice,” the Nashville-based songwriter spent over a decade relentlessly building her career independently, making a name for herself in some of Music City’s most iconic venues on Lower Broad, eventually signing to New Day Records as part of the award-winning and Grammy-nominated Gospel group HighRoad. She also released two full-length Country music albums independently including Honky Tonk Treasures (2021) and Fairweather Love (2015) feat. Vince Gill in addition to multiple EP’s and singles, and being featured on Travis Mobley’s (Grammy-winning band Shenandoah) single “Save Me.”

Continuing to captivate audiences with her wide-ranging resonant twang and timeless classic country sound, Kinsey has toured throughout the U.S. and in Europe, performing with The Time Jumpers, Darius Rucker and Vince Gill. She has opened for Craig Morgan, Colt Ford, and Mark Chesnutt, and will be setting abroad again for shows this summer as part of the Nashville Nights tour.

The Louisville, KY native’s musical journey started at ten years old when she came across an old piano in the basement of her parents’ house. She quickly discovered a love for songwriting and playing multiple instruments including the guitar and viola, and started writing songs and recording them on a four-track Tascam cassette recorder. She regularly spent time on her grandparents farm in Elizabethtown, where she soaked up listening to Classic Oldies radio stations, and picked up vinyls recorded by some of her biggest musical influences including; Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Elvis, Loretta Lynn, Tom Petty, Vince Gill and The Chicks. By fifteen years old, the talented singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist began touring with a Christian band, performing at Mega Churches across the country. Continuing to pursue her career in music, she built a loyal following of fans performing shows while attending Northern Kentucky University. She made her first visit to Nashville at 18 years old, and moved to Music City right after graduation. The Louisville, KY native’s musical journey started at ten years old when she came across an old piano in the basement of her parents’ house. She quickly discovered a love for songwriting and playing multiple instruments including the guitar and viola, and started writing songs and recording them on a four-track Tascam cassette recorder. She regularly spent time on her grandparents farm in Elizabethtown, where she soaked up listening to Classic Oldies radio stations, and picked up vinyls recorded by some of her biggest musical influences including; Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Elvis, Loretta Lynn, Tom Petty, Vince Gill and The Chicks. By fifteen years old, the talented singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist began touring with a Christian band, and performing at Mega Churches across the country. Continuing to pursue her career in music, she built a loyal following of fans performing shows while attending Northern Kentucky University. She made her first visit to Nashville at 18 years old, and moved to Music City right after graduation. She regularly performs at Bridgestone Arena during the NHL Predators games and has performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” for the Cincinnati Reds and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

For the BB N73, KIT’s team of engineers worked closely with Blackbird Studio Owner John McBride and the Blackbird team to capture the best characteristics from twelve vintage 1073 units, in use at Blackbird Studio and hand-selected by McBride. Incorporating McBride’s favorite characteristics, each 1073 was analyzed to ensure every audible detail was accounted for, capturing the essence of all of them, including everything from cables and modifications to age and irregularities.

“Building the BB N73 has been one of our biggest projects yet. With other entries in the space, it needed to be special. As a user of many different 1073 plug-ins, I always found the models to be more reminiscent of a brand new unit than a vintage one, and I wanted to fill that niche with Blackbird Studio. We analyzed every vintage 1073 at Blackbird Studio and selected twelve of the best units. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 17, 2022) - Nashville spoken word and hip-hop artists Rashad thaPoet Rayford, Saran ‘S-Wrap’ Thompson and producer trio The Varsity (Adrian Taylor, Kyle Hicks and Michael B. Hicks) are releasing the music video for “New Day,” the current single from their recently released spoken word poetry album The Other Side Too today. 

“New Day” ushers in a poignant reminder that every day is an opportunity for a fresh start. The music video was directed by Jasmin “Shubey” Shuler and was filmed at multiple locations in North Nashville including the Jefferson Street Sound Museum (JSSM). The video celebrates Nashville's African American arts and culture, Jefferson Street’s historic legacy in music and showcases a mural by Artist Sir Joshua Black. Community leaders including Lorenzo Washington, founder and curator of the sound museum and Clemmie Greenlee, the founder of Nashville Peacemakers also make an appearance.

The Other Side Too follows the release of their spoken word poetry album The Other Side, lauded by the Nashville Scene as “an interconnected collection of uplifting pieces about a journey to finding peace and purpose, built atop a musical foundation of psychedelic soul.” The Other Side was part of a larger movement (100 Griots Movement) led by Recording Academy leaders and fellow spoken word poets to rally 100 submissions in order to split the Best Spoken Word Album category, and distinguish true spoken word projects from projects dedicated solely to audio book and/or narration. The last true-to-form spoken word poet to win the category was nearly 30 years ago.

With much success, this year marks the first-ever award for Best Spoken Word Poetry Album, which honors excellence and spoken word albums, specific to the performance of poetry with or without music, a category formerly dominated by audio books. Read more (HERE).

Longcut displays a welcomed intensity and maturity that signals an elevated level for the singer-songwriter, one that demands attention. The swaggering, fiddle-and-steel heavy “Jacket On,” was co-written by Mike, songstress Brandy Clark, and Brent Anderson with Jenee Fleenor adding her signature fiddle skills. Mike stretches his vocal abilities from floor to ceiling with his impressive range on “Loser,” a wear your heart on your sleeve spin on losing someone, co-written by Colin Elmore, Hillary Lindsey and Gordie Sampson. A dose of reality sets in with “Way It Goes,” a song about how it is instead of how you think it should be, co-written by songwriter-artist Phil Vassar, Brett Sheroky and Andrew Peebles.

The expansive set also shows Mike leaning into Appalachia influence with “Forgiveness and Rain,” a song about wrestling with the guilt of raising questionable crops, penned by longtime collaborators Brent Anderson and Chris DuBois.

"‘Homewrecker’ is the most personal song that I’ve ever written and released. It's about my own experience and two people drawn to one another, but never single at the same time,” said Beck.

The Central Pennsylvania native moved to Nashville to pursue her music career in 2019. Since then, she’s released three singles including “Say To You,” “Mirrors,” “Pieces,” and her debut EP One Sided Expectations - the EP release date marked her 18th birthday (2020). Quickly building a loyal following, she garnered nearly 70,000 cumulative streams on Spotify, a captivating audience on TikTok and the attention of several artists, songwriters and insiders including a collaboration with Sam Grow. Her music is a seamless blend of country and pop and her distinctive voice has attracted comparisons to Maren Morris and Adele. 

Beck is currently touring and has performed over 400 shows nationwide including multiple performances at Nashville’s Whiskey Jam and the PA Farm Show, the nation’s largest indoor agricultural show attended by 500K people. During the pandemic, she attended John and Martina McBride’s six-month program at The Blackbird Academy, a tech school for audio working with professional bands and some of the best live sound engineers in the business. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 24, 2022) - Folk-rock singer-songwriter Joshua Dylan Balis is bringing the heat with his WE’RE ON FIRE summer headlining tour. Josh is touring in support of his recently released critically-acclaimed debut LP We’re On Fire (State Fair Records), which was featured by American Songwriter, The Bluegrass Situation, and The Dallas Morning News. Josh will kick off his WE’RE ON FIRE headlining tour in his hometown of Dallas, Texas this Friday (5/27) with a special album release show featuring special guests and members of band Bastards of Soul Danny Balis and Chad Stockslager. The 15-city tour will continue with stops in Washington, D.C., New York, NY, Los Angeles, CA, and Denver, CO before making a second run through Dallas/Fort Worth, TX and returning to Nashville, TN where Josh currently resides. Featured in The Boot's Weekly Picks, Josh’s current radio single “Lydia” was named a song “that immediately takes you back to another time” (Holler) and a “jangly heartland rocker that provides Balis’ voice a higher place to elegantly soar” (Dallas Observer). “Lydia” was recently shipped to Triple A, Americana and Non-comm radio stations and was co-produced by Josh and Jay Michael Smith. The song is the follow up to Josh’s previously released “Stories” and title track “We’re On Fire,” which quickly notched an impressive 52,000 streams on YouTube and was noted as a “gorgeous, dreamy arrangement with a hint of Americana twang” (Dallas Observer).
